Catching up slowly - Sunday I went for a swim to get back into training after being sick. I didn't feel bad! which is good cause the last few swims I'd felt off. Monday I went for an 8.5 mile run and it went well!
I did a 6 mile loop of my neighborhood, which is hilly! And then I picked up Boomer and we did another 2.5 miles. We had planned on doing less, but Boomer felt very good and frisky - he says he likes the chillier weather.
So while I'm not quite caught up to the team (a lot of people did 11 miles this weekend), I'm getting there... slowly.

Feeling behind
I spent all of Thursday night feeling sick - so I had to skip my planned Friday morning swim. Then I didn't really eat for a full day, and decided I had to skip the team bike ride Saturday. It was a beautiful sunny day out, and most of the team did near 50 miles! So now I feel very behind :( ... I need to get back into the cycle of daily trainings. And it doesn't help that I'm out of town when a lot of our team are doing a half marathon in two weeks.... sigh.

Back to the blog
Well, we are about 1/2 through our triathlon training for the big scary Half Ironman. I somehow forgot to blog so far this year - even though while training I think of things I should blog about. Like how much I've sucked at swimming the last two times, and how I was pleasantly surprised by our 9 mile run last weekend.
Hopefully at this point I will now do some blogging for the rest of the season. So far its going well - Coach wade scared me into doing all the oyo trainings this year. He sent out an email about fitting in 8 workouts a week (with a rest day), and mentioned that at this point missing a single workout should be rare!
His suggested schedule is intimidating - like he writes that on last thursday we should run 5-7 miles AND bike 1-2 hours - how does a working person fit that into their day?
So I've been trying to fit in all the workouts, I usually get in all by one. I even managed to swim 3 times in a week twice! Which is like a record for me.
Quick recap of the week so far:
Monday - rest day.
Tuesday - Speed work at the track with the team. We did 6 one half mile intervals, at our "time trial pace". I was sub 4 minutes each time, and sped up near the end.
Wednesday - swim - felt like I was flailing everywhere...
Thursday - two loops around magnolia on the bike. I'm so dedicated I even do some small hills as part of oyo trainings! (that is unlike me).
Tomorrow (friday) I plan to swim, and maybe run. Saturday is a team bike ride. Sunday oyo run.
